Programm in Detail
Day 1 - Arrival
Upon arrival at the international Airport of Lima, You will meet one of our guides who will take you to your hotel.
Overnight stay at a selected hotel.
Day 2 - Lima
In the morning, You will do a city tour of Lima. You will get to know the most important sights of the "City of Kings" the historical center, Plaza san Martín, the Main Square, the Town Hall, the Government Palace, the Cathedral and the beautiful balconies of the colonial houses. Afterwards you will visit the Museum of Anthropology and Archaeology which archives the biggest collection of pre-hispanic art objects.This way, you will get an overview of the Peruvian history. Return to hotel. The afternoon is at your leisure.
Day 3 - Ballestas Islands, Nazca.
Today, you'll take a boat tour to the Ballestas Islands, which are a part of the nature preserves of Paracas. You will have the opportunity to see Sea Lions, Penguins, Pelicans and other Sea birds. On your way back, You'll will stop at the famous "Candelabro", a gigantic figure in the style of the Nazcas. In the late afternoon, your journey continues to Nazca. En route you'll visit Huacachina oasis and the regional museum in Ica.
An option would be a flight over the Nazca lines. With a small Airplane, You'll fly over the mystic Nazca lines, enormous geoglyphs in the Nazca desert, which represent animals, birds, and geometrical figures. The geoglyphs can only be seen from the air. The flight takes approximately 45 minutes. Overnight stay at a selected hotel.
Day 4 - Nazca, Arequipa
Morning drive to Arequipa by private transport. The journey takes approximately 10 hours and you will cross the deserts and valleys of the coast. Arrival in the white city of Arequipa in the late evening. Overnight stay at a selected hotel.
Day 5 - Arequipa City Tour
Morning city tour of Arequipa. You will visit the main square, one of the most beautiful in Peru, the Cathedral, an example of the Peruvian architecture of the 19th Century with treasures of gold and silver; "La Compañia",an old Jesuit church, one of the most beautiful churches in Arequipa with a beautiful facade and columns with spiral carvings, laurel crowns, flowers, birds etc. On closer inspection you can see the boundaries of the European influence - the angels have indigenous faces and one of the angels wears a feather crown.
Afterwards we visit the convent of Santa Catalina, a small town from the 17th Century; this place was only re-opened in 1970 after a 400-year closure for visitors. Santa Catalina gives the visitors an insight of four centuries of history. You can visit the numerous courtyards, the kitchen, the slave rooms and the laundry places of stone. The requirements to enter the convent were the strictest in Peru. Today 20 nuns live in the part of the convent where once up to 500 nuns lived. Return to the hotel. The afternoon is at your leisure.
Day 6 - Arequipa, Colca Canyon
In the early morning, you 'll start our impressive half-day tour to the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest canyons in the world (3.400 m). We drive through the "Pampa Cañahuas" in the national park "Aguada Blanca", living environment of the Vicuñas and alpacas (South American camels). En route, We will also see Pre-Colombian terraces that are still used by the local Collaguas. Overnight Stay at a selected hotel. We recommend you to take a rest, to get used to the altitude.
Optional: Excursion to the "La Calera" hot springs.
Day 7 - Colca Canyon, Puno
In the morning, you start your journey by private transport to Puno. The journey will take approximately 5 hours. En route, you will visit the burial site of Sillustani, which is located at lake Umayo. These 14 meter high towers were already used as tombs in the Tihuanaco Culture. Further more,you can observe many endemic bird species.
Day 8 - Puno/ Floating islands of the Uros & Taquile.
In the morning, you'll start your spectacular boat tour on Lake Titicaca and first, visit the floating islands of the Uros. The Uros are an old nation living on Lake Titicaca, they are also known as the tribe "Acuatica". The people of the Uros construct their islands by putting layers of cattails in regular intervals at the edges of the island. The same material is used for the construction of the houses and boats.
We will head on to the island of Taquile, which is home to the nation of Quechua. The population of Taquile has developed an efficient social system from generation to generation. You can also admire the knitting art. Continue to Luquina where you'll have lunch. Luquina is a small Aymara community on the peninsula Chucuito. In the afternoon we return to Puno.

Day 9 - Puno, Cuzco
Your 9 hour journey to Cusco starts early in the morning. On the way to Cusco, You'll pass the mountain chain Vilcanota where you have the opportunity to observe the snow-covered peaks of "La Raya" and "Kunurana. En route,You will visit Rajchi and Andahuaylillas. After your arrival in Cusco, you will be transfer to your selected hotel.
Day 10 – Cuzco, City Tour
Morning: City tour of Cusco. Visit of the main square, the Cathedral and the temple of the Sun or Koricancha. You continue the tour outside the city, where you'll visit the Inca ruins Kenko, Tambomachay, Puca Pucara and the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuamán, which was built strategic on a hill and dominates over Cusco. The fortress is famous for its enormous stones which are interconnected and form the walls of the complex.
Return to the hotel. The afternoon is at your leisure.
Day 11 - Cuzco, Sacred Valley of the Inca
Excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Inca. You will visit the colorful Indio-market in Pisac. Here you can take a look at the customs of the population on a typical market day (on Sundays, the mass is held in Quechua, the language of the population).
In the afternoon, you'll drive through the Urbamba Valley to Ollantaytambo. The fort of Ollantaytambo was built to guard the entrance of the valley and protect it from possible attacks of the jungle population. The site consists of several super imposed terraces. Furthermore you'll have the opportunity to walk through the narrow streets of the village and gain an insight of this Military, Religious and Cultural Center of the Incas. In the afternoon, Transfer to a selected hotel.
Day 12 - Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Aguas Calientes, Cuzco
In the morning transfer to the train station of Ollantaytambo. You start your 90 Minute train journey to Aguas Calientes, a village at the foot of Machu Picchu. From here, You'll be going by bus for 30 minutes up to the ruins of Machu Picchu. During the guided tour, You'll visit the main square, the round towers, the Holy Sun Dial, the Royal Quarters, the temple of the three windows and the cemetery. Afterwards you will have time to visit Machu Picchu on your own. In the afternoon,You will return to Poroy with the train. From here transfer to Cusco.
Day 13 - Cuzco, Lima, Departure
Your transfer will be late morning to the airport of Cusco. Flight to Lima. Arrival and transfer to Miraflores.
